CM Siddaramaiah Inaugurates “Laksh Vriksha Scheme” in Mysuru

Mysuru: In an effort to conserve the environment, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah inaugurated the “Laksh Vriksha Yojana” program in the city on Saturday. The event was organized jointly by  Rajeev Sneha Balaga, Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project, and BC Trust.

The inauguration ceremony, held in the presence of Suttur Veerasimhasana Math’s Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji, Ministers KC. Mahadevappa, K. Venkatesh, Eshwar Khandre, and MLAs Tanveer Sait and P. Rajeev, and others were present.

During his address, CM Siddaramaiah highlighted the state’s ambitious goal to plant five crore trees this year. He highlighted the detrimental impact of human greed on nature, noting that Karnataka’s current forest cover stands at approximately 19%, whereas it should ideally be at least 30%. He called upon the citizens to love, respect, and protect nature, urging a collective effort towards environmental preservation.
