Mysuru: In a surprising development, Mallikarjuna Swamy, the brother-in-law of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, visited the Lokayukta SP’s office in Mysuru on Tuesday evening and again on Wednesday morning, despite no official notice being issued to him regarding the MUDA site allotment case. Swamy, who is the third accused in the case, spent about half an hour in the office on Tuesday, where he met Lokayukta SP and the investigating officer T J Udesh. His visit came shortly after former MUDA commissioner Natesh had completed his questioning, fueling speculation.
On Wednesday, Swamy returned to the Lokayukta office but declined to respond to media inquiries.
Meanwhile, S Palaiah, the former Mysuru ADC and ex-IAS officer, also appeared for questioning at the Lokayukta office for the second time. It was during his tenure that land was sold by Devaraj to Mallikarjuna Swamy. Speaking to the media after his inquiry, Palaiah clarified that he had previously received a memorandum from B M Parvathi, Siddaramaiah’s wife, when he was the MUDA commissioner. He assured that he had provided all necessary information during his inquiry and would cooperate with further investigations if called again.
