Mysuru: After a prolonged delay, an auspicious day appears to have arrived for the foundation stone laying ceremony of matinee idol Dr. Vishnuvardhan’s memorial on December 6.
Mysuru DC D Randeep has confirmed the date after discussing the matter with the farmer’s family which had raised objections against the district administration’s decision to take over the land for memorial.
The proposed memorial was shifted from Bengaluru to Mysuru after several land issues that cropped up and finally a 5-acre land was chosen in Halalu village on Manadawadi Road for the construction of the memorial.
DC Randeep has also confirmed that the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will lay the foundation stone for the memorial.
