Mysuru: Congress MLC V.S. Ugrappa on Sunday said that ASP Kala Krishnaswamy has been directed to conduct an inquiry into the case of alleged sexual abuse of a 22-year-old woman from H D Kote.
Along with former minister Rani Sathish, the Expert committee on prevention of sexual violence against women and children led by Ugrappa visited Nadadi village of HD Kote taluk to inquire into the case.
According to the complaint filed by the victim in Sargur police station, she worked as a maid at the house of one Mahadev in Nadadi village in HD Kote taluk. She was reportedly sexually abused by Mahadev for the past few years and became pregnant twice and the pregnancy was reportedly terminated. Mahadev who had reportedly promised to marry her, is all set to get married to another girl. Following this, she lodged a complaint with Sargur Police on November 18, police said.
A case of sexual abuse, cheating and a case under The Scheduled Castes and Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 has been registered against the accused. Further investigation is on.
