Mysuru: A professional videographer was lured by unidentified youth assuring him of exchanging currency, and later left robbed and bruised in an isolated location at night in Nazarbad police station limits.
The victim befriended two unknown youth while sipping tea at a stall who assured him of converting his black money into white. They promised him fresh currency in exchange for old notes. To execute their “plan”, they took the videographer in their car to a farm near Jakkanahalli cross on the outskirts of the city at 11pm on Saturday, November 12.There they decamped with his cash amounting to Rs 6 Lakhs after assaulting and leaving him alone.

Videographer approached the Nazarbad police station to lodge a complaint but left the premises without divulging his name despite the staff asking him to lodge an official complaint.

In the meantime, extensive search operations are being carried out by the city police to nab offenders involved in such crimes soon after demonetisation came into effect. According to city police commissioner, one complaint has been registered so far and investigation is in progress. He assured of stringent action in such cases.
