Mysuru: The Logo for the Devaraja Urs Centenary celebration was released by District in-charge Minister Srinivas Prasad at the DC office in the city on Tuesday, August 18.
After releasing the logo Prasad spoke about the preparations being made by the Government for the centenary celebrations. He also informed that an audio CD on Devaraja Urs will be released tomorrow. Candidates for the Devaraja Urs Award are yet to decide and more information regarding the Centenary celebration will be given during the Audio release tomorrow.
Sadananda K S who saved Devaraja Urs during the Farmer Protest against the Varna Nale project in Mandya while serving as Circle Inspector at the time, will be awarded with a Humanitarian award during the centenary celebration.
Speaking about the Dasara, he said that this time Dasara will be simple “Sarala Dasara” and a meeting will be conducted on August 23 in Bengaluru with all political parties regarding the Dasara Celebrations.
“A meeting with PM Modi has been fixed on 24th August in Delhi regarding the drought-hit state and Kalasa Banduri Project. All political leaders will be joining in the meeting”, he informed.
MP Pratap Simha, ZP President Pushpa Amarnath, Mayor R Lingappa, Hunsur MLA H P Manjunath, Mysuru Zoo Authority Chairperson Rehana Banu, Former MP H Vishwanath and District Administration officials were present during the logo release.
