Mysuru: Few private persons have been involved in Aadhaar card business in Mysuru, the home district of Chief minister Siddaramaiah.

Aadhaar card which is mandatory to avail government facilities is provided free of cost as per the government order. But In Mysuru few persons are demanding Rs 200 to 500 to issue one.

There are more than 12 Nemmadi Kendras in Mysuru to issue Aadhaar cards, opened by the government. But few private persons too have got a tender to issue Aadhaar card. A woman named Nagamma from Hutagalli layout in Mysuru has been publicly running this business and has turned her house into a Aadhaar card registration centre. She demands minimum Rs 100 from the people who stand in queue at her residence waiting to get a Aadhaar card.

Several complaints were made to the district administration but no action has been taken. It is alleged that these private persons who run Aadhaar card business have indirect backing from the local politicians.

Mysuru, which is a tourist place witnesses lakhs of tourists from across the world. If the private persons continue to issue Aadhaar card there is a fear among the public that any anti-nationals or terrorists would misuse it. Earlier an US national managed to get a fake Aadhaar card claiming to be an Indian but later he landed in jail.

District adminstration has to take action immediately in this regard.
