Mysuru: “I have self-esteem. I do not tolerate someone offending people of my constituency,” said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah indirectly targeting former minister and defecting party member V Srinivas Prasad here on Thursday, December 29.
Speaking after inaugurating various developmental works under district administration, Public Works Department, Irrigation Department at Nanjangud town, the CM said that one needs to respond to the problems of people who elected them. “Mere slogans will not serve the purpose. Nanjangud has not seen any development since many years. We are ready to release funds. But the former minister did not discuss about the development. Empty vessel makes more noise not the filled ones” he said sarcastically.

“BJP leader Eshwarappa is saying that he will form Ahinda group. Muslims, Christians and Parsis who come under minority community-Are they not human beings? Communal party will break us, separate us. But for some it is a beautiful party. In a democracy we should strive towards social equality and religious secularism. But what are the communal parties doing?” he questioned.

“There will be by-elections in Nanjangud in February. If the Centre waives off half the loans of the farmers, state government is ready to waive the other half. Let the BJP leaders from the state bring this matter to the notice of the prime minister”, he added.
