Mysuru: A corporator of City Municipal Corporation (CMC) stayed overnight in his ward near a public bin holding placards and posters to create awareness among his ward people not to drop litter at will.

Sunil, an elected corporator from Ward No 10 of Vidyaranyapuram took to Gandhigiri after people turned a blind eye to earlier efforts on maintaining cleanliness. After noticing people dropping litter at will in his ward, Corporator Sunil decided to stay overnight near the bin to keep vigil on the happenings around with few of his well wishers.

He cleaned the area surrounding the bin and drew Rangoli patterns on the spot and then held posters and placards to tell people not to drop litter at will.

Hope the corporator’s efforts will go a long way and help Mysuru regain the prestigious clean city tag in the country after it dropped to 5th position this year.
