Helicopter crash: Mortal remains of Mysuru pilot to arrive in city today

Mysuru: The mortal remains of the pilot from Mysuru who was killed in an unfortunate helicopter crash in Arunachal Pradesh will be brought to city today.

The body of Rajeev Hosakote, the co-pilot of Pawan Hans helicopter which went missing in Arunachal Pradesh on Aug. 4 was traced yesterday along with the bodies of his co-pilot and an IAS officer.

Sources said that his mortal remains which were handed over to his relatives by the Assam Government at about 9am today, August 14, were airlifted to Bengaluru from Guwahati. After reaching Bengaluru at about 4pm, the mortal remains of the ill-fated pilot will be brought to his Ramanuja road residence in the city at about 10pm.

It is learnt that Rajeev, who was in his early 30s, had got engaged recently. His father Manjunath, a civil engineer, and mother Vanishri, a homemaker are residents of Ramanuja road in Mysuru. He has a brother and a sister, both of whom work in Bengaluru.

The helicopter is said to have crashed into a gorge between two mountains and was reported missing on August 4 while it was flying from Khonsa to Chabua in Dibrugarh. Kamlesh Joshi was on his way to attend a Home Ministry meeting in New Delhi.
