Mysuru: The recent rainfall and flood situation in the Malnad and Old Mysuru regions have shown significant improvement, offering much-needed relief to government agencies and farmers. The outflow from major dams has decreased, reflecting a stabilization of the situation.

As of the latest updates, the inflow to the Krishna Raja Sagar (KRS) dam has reduced to 73,500 cusecs, with an outflow of 58,667 cusecs. Similarly, the Kabini dam in HD Kote is experiencing an inflow of 32,559 cusecs and an outflow of 33,771 cusecs. The Hemavathi dam also reported a drop in inflow due to reduced rainfall in Chikkamagaluru and Hassan districts. On Saturday morning, the Hemavathi dam saw an inflow of 24,100 cusecs and an outflow of 22,425 cusecs.

Rainfall in the Malnad region has decreased compared to Thursday and Friday, contributing to the improved conditions. Additionally, the Sampaje-Madikeri-Mysuru road, which was closed for repairs, has been reopened for vehicular traffic as of Friday night.

This easing of the rain and flood situation is expected to help mitigate further risks and support ongoing recovery efforts in the affected areas.
