Kodagu: Virajpet MLA K. G. Bopaiah said that the State Government will be pressurised to declare Kodagu as a flood-hit district.
He was addressing the office-bearers of Kodagu Growers’ Federation at Ponnampet on Monday November 15. Stating that so far only Madikeri taluk has been declared as flood-hit, Bopaiah assured that the measures would be taken to include all the other taluks under flood-hit list.
He said that as the farmers and the coffee growers alike have been hit by the flood situation for the past three years as well as crop diseases an appeal to the State Government will also be made with regard to suitably compensating the affected.
