Kodagu:  The Bharatiya Janata Party Yuva Morcha (BJYM) workers protested against the former chief minister Siddaramaiah during his one-day tour to the Kodagu District over his alleged remarks against Veer Savarkar on Thursday August 18.

The protesters stopped his car and gave him Savarkar’s photo as his convoy approached Thithimathi Town. Further, they raised the slogans “Go Back Siddaramaiah” and waved a black flag.

Speaking to the mediapersons Darshan Joyappa, the District President of BJYM, slammed Siddaramaiah and alleged that he had celebrated Tipu Jayanti while being anti-Hindu. Tipu was a radical who had killed thousands of innocent people. Siddaramaiah had previously labelled Kodavas as “Beef Eaters.” It will only disturb the peace to allow him to enter the area.

According to sources, police managed the situation and cleared the way for his convoy in the meantime.
