Kodagu: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee Law, Human Rights and RTI Cell President A. S. Ponnanna said that it is very sad that two persons of the same family were killed in a tiger attack in Kodagu within a span of two days and it was sad that adequate precautionary measures were not taken despite the forecast of such a shocking development.

Raju of Palleri was killed in a tiger attack on Monday February 13 while his grandson Chetan was killed in a tiger attack on Sunday February 12 and his father Madhu was also injured. The family needs the support of all of us in the present, he said.

In Kodagu, the attacks of wild animals on human beings and crops of farmers are increasing day by day. A permanent solution has to be found. It is not right for the Forest Department to be proactive only when it is attacked by wild animals. It is surprising that no representative of the Administration or Local Government officials have come to the venue.

A. S. Ponnanna has urged the Government to consider the requests made by the people over the years and take steps to prevent attacks by wild animals.
