Mysuru: A leopard spotted prowling the Infosys campus in Hebbal has led the company to enact a precautionary work-from-home directive for its employees on December 31.
In a memo to staff, the HR department stated, “Dear Infoscion, a wild animal has been sighted on campus. Safety measures are being coordinated with the task force. Please work from home today. Entry to the campus is restricted until further notice.”
The leopard, captured on CCTV between 2 am and 4 am, triggered an immediate response from the forest department. Officials have initiated a combing operation, employing drones to track and capture the elusive animal.
Dr. I. B. Prabhu Gowda, DCF Wildlife Mysuru, confirmed the sighting. “The leopard was seen early this morning, and efforts are in full swing to secure it. We are deploying drones and a dedicated task force to ensure safety,” he shared with mysoorunews.com.
Infosys’ sprawling 337-acre campus, located in Hebbal Industrial Area, is adjacent to reserve forests known for frequent wildlife activity. This incident is a stark reminder of the 2011 leopard sighting on the premises.
While the forest department continues its efforts, the temporary remote-work policy underscores the company’s commitment to employee safety.
