Madikeri: An elephant which was reportedly creating a ruckus in the Kutta village, was successfully brought under control in the Kurchi village by a team of forest officials on Wednesday, December 4.

According to reports, the elephant is expected to be around the age of 24 years.

Six months ago, the elephant had killed a labourer in a coffee estate in the Kutta village and destroyed the paddy fields.

The 24-year-old was raging out of control in the Kurchi village and was walking through the village where people were present.

Frightened by this, the villagers informed the forest officials and asked them to get it under control.

Based on the complaints, a team of over 50 officials arrived at the village and brought the rampaging elephant under control with the help of a herd of elephants from the Mathigodu elephant camp.
