Madikeri: Naxal activities have resurged in recent years, leading to a confrontation between a Naxal group and the anti-Naxal force near the Karnataka-Kerala border. The incident resulted in all Naxals hastily leaving the area.

Approximately nine Naxals had established a camp at Ayyammun in Kerala, located a short distance from the border village of Kutta. As the anti-Naxal force conducted a combing operation, gunfire erupted. The Naxals retaliated by opening fire and quickly fleeing the scene.

Upon inspection, two rifles were recovered at the site, accompanied by bloodstains, indicating potential injuries sustained by the Naxals during the exchange of gunfire. An official from the anti-Naxal force, requesting anonymity, suggested that the individuals may be associated with a faction known as the Kabini Naxals.
