Mysuru: A case has been filed against a hotel guest, who allegedly looted lakhs of rupees from room boys on the pretext of providing them government jobs. The incident took place recently in Vijayanagara police limits here.

According to the complaint, the man introduced himself to a room boy at a hotel as a senior government official and asked his qualification. When the boy revealed his details, the man reportedly promised him a government job and said that the process would require certain amount of money. Trusting the man completely, the room boy not only arranged for money but also asked the man to land government jobs to five of his friends. Collecting lakhs of rupees from them, the man vacated the room without even paying the rent, it is alleged.

The room boys suspected foul play only when the man did not turn up even after a month.

The hunt for him is on.
