Mandya: A hardcore fan of actor turned politician Ramya has opened a canteen in her name here in Mandya.
Raghu, a hotelier and a hardcore fan of former MP Ramya has opened ‘Ramya Canteen’ here on Ashok Nagar in Mandya. District Congress president Athmananda inaugurated the new canteen on November 3.
Raghu who is into hotel business for the last several years decided to serve people in the name of his idol Ramya. Anyone can avail low-priced food – Snacks and lunch here.
For a mere Rs 10, a person can enjoy a hearty breakfast, with options ranging from Idli, Vada, Rava Idli, dosa and lunch. People can also parcel food from here.
Earlier, Siddaramaiah government launched Indira canteens, designed on the lines of ‘Amma canteen’ of Tamil Nadu. The JD(S) too has launched Appaji Canteen, named in honour of former Prime Minister Deve Gowda.
