Mandya: A case has been registered against seven persons including a circle inspector for allegedly threatening a Hindu activist at Srirangapattana Police Station.

Last Sunday December 11, thousands of Hindu activists took out a Sankiratana Yatra procession in the Town. During the procession, a Hindu activist in Ganjam Village threw a banana stick at the house of a person belonging to another community.

A native of Pandavapura, was caught on CCTV throwing a banana stem, following which the Srirangapattana Police arrested Shashank and brought him to the Police Station for questioning.

Activists of the Hindu Jagarana Vedike staged a protest in front of the police station alleging that they were threatened. They demanded that those who threatened be suspended and an FIR be registered.

District Superintendent of Police N. Yathish’s negotiations failed.
