Mandya: Compensation cheques handed over to rape victim

Mandya: Leader of Opposition Party Siddaramaiah on Wednesday October 19 visited the house of a 10-year-old girl in the town, who was allegedly raped and murdered by a tuition centre worker, and consoled the family. He also distributed compensation.

Later, he demanded that the person who committed such an act on the child should be hanged.

Siddaramaiah has donated Rs. 2 lakh, KPCC vicey-president N. Chandrababu Naidu has given Rs. 2 lakh, Chaluvaraya Swamy and Council member Marithibbe Gowda have donated Rs. 50000 each.

Chamarajpet MLA Zameer Ahmed Khan visited the girl’s house and consoled the family and donated Rs. 5 lakh. Later, he demanded that the man who committed the monstrous act on the child should be hanged.

A total of Rs. 10 lakh has been released from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to the girl’s family. The compensation cheque was handed over to District In-Charge minister K. Gopalaiah and he distributed it to the family. Along with that MLA Dr. K. Annadani and MP Sumalatha Ambareesh visited the spot and handed over the cheque.

Later, speaking on the occasion, they said that the CM has taken special care to provide justice to the little girl. The Government will remain with the bereaved family till the end, they consoled.
