Mandya: More than 15 Congress Leaders have visited the residence of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President D. K. Shivakumar and invited him to contest from Mandya District to strengthen the party and take the Maddur seat into the Congress fold.
“Congress, JD(S) and BJP have already announced their probable candidates for Maddur and efforts are being made to bring D. K. Shivakumar to the Constituency.
In Maddur, the Congress has been losing since 2008. This time, D. C. Thammanna of the JD(S), Gurucharan of the Congress, S. P. Swamy of the BJP and Kadalur as independent are likely to contest.
At a time when a triangular contest is being created in the constituency, Congress probable candidate Gurucharan has invited D. K. Shivakumar.
