Mandya: In order to avoid the financial loss caused to Krishnaraja Sagara (KRS) Brindavan for the last one month due to leopard has been opened to tourists.

Last month, after a leopard was spotted in Brindavan, the Cauvery Irrigation Corporation Officials held discussions with the Forest Department and placed a cage to catch the leopard.

Several efforts were also made under the leadership of Forest Department Officials to catch the leopard which had kept a cage in captivity but did not fall into the cage. The leopard could not be found despite a month-long operation. The leopard, which was once spotted on CCTV cameras, has not been seen again. Tourists to Brindavan were restricted due to leopard scare. This resulted in huge losses to the Government.

In this context, the entry to Brindavan has been opened for tourists.
