Mandya: A Telugu film shooting team converted Raja Gopura as bar for shooting and the incident has attracted sharp condemnation by people in Melukote of the District on Sunday October 9. The Raj Gopura is situated at famous Cheluvanarayana Swamy Temple to which hundreds of devotees visit daily. The act of shooting team evoked public outrage.
It is said that the film shooting team of 3 not 2 starred by Naga Chaitanya from Andhra Pradesh has put up a set of bar which has affected the legacy of Melukote. The shoot was done with liquor bottles of different brands and by putting up a bar-like set in the traditional Rajagopura, hurting sentiments of people.
It is said that Mandya Deputy Commissioner had issued permission for two-day of shooting with conditions. But people allege that the
shooting team violated the pre-condition completely.
