Mandya: Miscreants murdered a woman and set the body on fire on the bed at Marasinganahalli in Maddur Taluk. The incident took place on the night of Monday January 9. The deceased has been identified as Prema (42). He was burnt to death while lying on her bed at home. It is suspected that someone killed her and set her on fire.
According to the Police, miscreants might be known to the woman and have also decamped with gold jewellery after committing the crime. The body was completely charred. The incident came to light when locals noticed thick smoke coming from the house and informed the police. Later, the Besagarahalli Police visited the place and checked.
After the death of her husband, Prema was staying alone in the house while her son was residing in Bengaluru. The exact reason for the murder is not known. The Police has registered a case and laid a trap to nab the accused.
