Mandya: A man convicted of sexually assaulting three minor girls has been awarded 30-year imprisonment and imposed Rs. 41,000 fine.
Nagajyoti K. A., Special Judge of Second Additional District and Sessions Court and Fasttrack Court awarded the judgment. The convict has been identified as Ajay R., Who was booked under various charges under IPC sections and POCSO Act at Arakere Police Station in 2019.
According to Public Prosecutor P. K. Shakeela Aboobakker, the convict had sexually assaulted three minor girls aged ten-and-half years, six-and-half years and eight-and-half years after abducting them under the pretext of giving them chocolates and eatables. He had outraged their modesty in a gap of one-and-a-half to three months. He had illegally confined them three to four times and forced upon them by showing them sexually explicit contents and threatening to kill them if they disclosed the matter to anybody.
As the charges were proved during the course of investigation, the convict was sentenced under various IPC sections and POCSO Act.
Under IPC section 376 AB 20 years rigorous imprisonment and Rs. 35,000 fine, under IPC 363, three years simple imprisonment and Rs. 1000 fine, under IPC, 342 four months simple imprisonment and IPC 354-A (1) (i) and POCSO Act section 12, one-year rigorous imprisonment and Rs. 1000 fine, IPC 506, one- year simple imprisonment and Rs. 1000 fine, Section 10 of POCSO Act five years rigorous imprisonment and Rs. 3000 fine were imposed. The sentences will run concurrently.
