Until last few days, former housing minister H M Ambareesh was planning to contest from Mandya on the Congress ticket, but now name of actor turned politician Divya Spandana alias Ramya is making rounds.
The district is out to witness changing political equations after news of Ramya hiring a house in Mandya came out.
Buzz in the district political circles is that Ramya may contest in 2018 assembly election from Mandya constituency as a Congress candidate. Irked by this rumors, H M Ambareesh is reportedly considering switching over to the JDS and contest from the party ticket.
According to the sources, Ramya has scheduled house warming ceremony of the newly rented house in Mandya on November 29. “A clear picture may emerge once Ramya starts working from the city,’ said a party leader.
