Mysuru: On Wednesday, November 20, Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai revealed that an active member of the Popular Front of India (PFI) and SDPI was responsible for the attack on Congress MLA Tanveer Sait.

It can be recalled that a youth named Farhan took a knife to Sait on Sunday during a wedding ceremony, severely injuring him. The Congress MLA from Mysuru’s Narasimharaja Assembly constituency is presently recuperating in the hospital.

According to minister Bommai, all the details of the case can’t be revealed yet because the investigation will be concluded in a few more days. “Prima facie it seems that he (Tanver Sait) was attacked due to ideological differences,” he added.

Stating that the investigation is ongoing, he said that it has come to light that the attacker is an active member of the PFI and SDPI.
