Mysuru: A day after busting illegal Nandini ghee manufacturing unit at Hosahundi in the outskirts of the City, Mysuru Milk Union Limited (MYMUL) Chairman Prasanna assured stringent action if any milk union staff were found hand in glove with the perpetrators.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Friday December 17, Prasanna said ”We are seriously concerned, especially about illegal ghee manufacturing plant in the name of Nandini brand. We are ready to take action if any MYMUL staff are involved in this. We will definitely dismiss them,” Prasanna said.

MYMUL officers and Police raided ghee adulteration unit at Hosahundi, and found labels printed Nandini and packing materials. We have
complained to Mysuru Superintendent of Police R. Chetan and the investigation has begun. The whole plant is sealed and as per spot evidence FIR is failed against four accused, Murugesh, Ashwini, Satnthosh and Kumar.

The whole unit, packing materials and barcode generators are all fake, Prasanna claimed. We also appeal to the government to investigate and take stringent action to solve the case as well as punish the culprits. Besides, there is a need to upgrade Vigilance team at Mymul. We have already instructed to visit Nandini parlours and check product quality at Lab every week. Both customers and farmers are strengths of MYMUL. We don’t hide truth from them, Prasanna claimed.
