Mysuru: Claiming the BJP Governments at the Centre and State have failed to fulfill the promises made to the people, MLA Yathindra Siddaramaiah has urged people to support the Congress, which is pro-people and committed to social justice.

Speaking after inaugurating a meeting of Congress workers and joining the party at Chilkunda in Hunsur Taluk of the District, he said that the Congress party had fulfilled 163 of the 165 promises made in its earlier manifesto. But the BJP is looting the treasury, he said and alleged that the Government was exploiting the prices of essential commodities including petrol and diesel by increasing the prices.

He warned that voting for the JD (S) in the elections would be like indirectly voting for the BJP, and said that he would support his son Manjunath, who has done a lot of development work in the Constituency and has a concern for the people, and send him back to the Assembly to become a minister.
