Mysuru: The Dasara CM Cup 2026 is set to begin on October 11, bringing together 4,515 sportspersons from across Karnataka for competitions in 28 sporting disciplines. The four-day event will continue until October 14 at Chamundi Vihar Stadium and other venues across Mysuru.

Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar is scheduled to inaugurate the sports meet at 4.30 pm on October 11 at Chamundi Vihar Stadium. Asian Games 2026 gold medallist Pranavi Urs and Commonwealth Games 2026 bronze medallist para-athlete K.S. Shilpa will attend the inaugural programme as special guests and be felicitated for their achievements.

Competitions Across 28 Sporting Disciplines

The Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports (DYES), along with the Dasara Sports Sub-Committee, is organising the event as part of the annual Dasara festivities. Athletes from different parts of Karnataka will participate in competitions across 28 disciplines, including karate and shooting.

A total of 4,515 sportspersons are expected to take part, supported by around 700 technical officers and staff. The event will provide athletes with an opportunity to demonstrate their skills and compete in a range of sporting events.

Chamundi Vihar Stadium will host the inauguration, while competitions will be held at multiple venues across Mysuru. Athletes have been provided with information about event schedules, reporting times and venue details through the organisers’ official web portal.

Accommodation and Transport Arrangements

For the first time, the Department and the Dasara Sports Sub-Committee will arrange boarding and lodging at private hotels for participating athletes and technical personnel.

Meals will be served at Nanjaraja Bahadur Choultry on Shivarampet Main Road. Free transportation will also be provided between the accommodation facilities, sports venues and the choultry to help participants travel conveniently during the four-day meet.

Organisers said arrangements had been made to ensure athletes receive quality food on time and have access to essential facilities throughout the competition.

Medical Support and Injury Management

Medical assistance and ambulance services will be available at all sports venues to respond to emergencies. Participants will also be covered by insurance in case of injuries during the event.

More than 30 physiotherapists have been engaged to support athletes with injury management and recovery. The organisers are also taking steps to maintain cleanliness and ensure that sports venues and accommodation facilities meet the needs of participants.

These arrangements are intended to help athletes focus on their events while ensuring that medical and logistical support remains accessible throughout the competition.

Helpline and Online Portal for Athletes

The DYES has introduced a dedicated website and mobile helpline services to help participants access information about the meet.

Athletes can visit www.dasaracmcup.in for details about sporting events, venues, timings, reporting schedules, accommodation, meals and transportation. The portal will also facilitate registration and the issuance of identity cards.

Participants can contact the organisers through the following helpline numbers:

  • 99865-77211
  • 99865-77411

Athletes will also receive messages on their mobile phones regarding reporting times and event schedules. Participants can approach the respective officials in charge if they encounter any difficulties during the meet.

Strict Action Against Doping

The organisers have announced strict measures against doping to maintain fairness and transparency in the competitions. The use of prohibited performance-enhancing substances will not be permitted.

The DYES will create awareness among athletes about banned substances and the importance of competing within anti-doping regulations. The services of the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) have been sought to conduct doping tests, with athletes subject to random testing.

The measures are intended to protect the integrity of the competitions and promote fair play among participants.

Dasara Sports Meet Adds to Festival Celebrations

The Dasara CM Cup is among the sporting events associated with Mysuru’s annual Dasara celebrations. With thousands of athletes, technical personnel and support staff expected to participate, the organisers have put in place arrangements covering accommodation, transport, food, medical care and event information.

The competitions will run from October 11 to 14, with events taking place at Chamundi Vihar Stadium and other venues across the city. The participation of accomplished athletes Pranavi Urs and K.S. Shilpa at the inaugural programme will also highlight the achievements of Karnataka’s sporting talent.
