Mysuru: BJP MLC A. H. Vishwanath has criticised the decision of collecting Rs. 100 from Government school students and alleged that a larger conspiracy is in the offing to shut down Kannada medium schools in the State.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Saturday October 22 that any Government should prioritise education and health. It is said here that it is being ignored, he added.

Stating that it is heartless move asking Government school children to pay Rs. 100 as most of them are from economically backward, Vishwanath said that education is moving towards wrong direction. Does not Government have enough funds for such things, he questioned and stressed that every child has right to education under Right To Education Act.
