Mysuru Lok Adalat: Over 1500 cases settled

Mysuru: Around 1500 cases were settled and dismissed by the District Law Courts Lok Adalat on Thursday August 27.

Wahid a resident of JP Nagar withdrew a case against persons who had stolen his cow, as his cow was returned to him. Umesh from Koorgalli and Anand from Yeraganahalli whose vehicles were stolen also withdrew their cases after their vehicles were returned to them.

Similarly, over 4233 criminal cases were referred from across the district, out of which 794 petty cases were also  settled by mutual consent, as per the reports.

District Sessions Court Judge KS Mudgal, District Law Service Authority Secretary Dinesh Hegde and Police Commissioner B Dayananda were present at the Lok Adalat. The main focus of the Lok Adalat is to save time and to council the accused in the cases, the representatives stated.

Another district level criminal case Lok Adalat will be held on September 2.
