Mysuru: I have not insulted the national flag. My photo has been tampered with, said Primary and Secondary Education Minister B. C. Nagesh.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Friday August 12 he said that we have photo and video evidence regarding this. He said that government ordered to hoist the National Flag in all madrasas of the State as well.

Responding to a journalist’s question about the complaint lodged by the Congress leaders under the charge of insulting the National Flag, he said that he was unaware about the complaint. and said that the allegation made by Congress is far from the truth. He asked that, “Who said the colours of the National Flag are red, white and green? and added that those who don’t even know the colour of the National Flag are trying to divert people’s attention by making accusations against me to hide the wrong done. He criticised that the Congress that fought for the country’s independence is different from the present Congress.

Mahatma Gandhi had called for the dissolution of the Congress as the country got its independence. However, some selfish Congressmen kept it by using it politically. The then Congress leaders went to jail for freedom. However, none of the present Congressmen were involved in the freedom struggle. Didn’t even go to jail. They have gone to jail for different reasons, he said and added that he will not be surprised if more leaders go to jail in the coming days.
