Mysuru: We have increased the reservation because we have the political will power said State Transport and Tribal Welfare Minister B. Sriramulu.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Thursday October 27 he said that the increase in reservation is due to the will of Former Chief Minister B. S. Yediyurappa and Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai. He said that the BJP will soon organise a massive programme for scheduled tribes in Ballari. In this context, the Minister said that a preliminary meeting had been arranged at the BJP office in Mysuru on Thursday October 27. Discussions are going on regarding the credit war between Congress and JD (S) regarding the implementation of SC/ST reservation. But during the time of Congress and JD (S), a committee may have been formed regarding the increase in reservation. However, it was our Government that implemented the increase in reservation, he said.
After SC/STs, many communities have demanded increase in reservation. We have no objection to this. If reservation is to be increased, caste and genealogy should be studied. A committee should be formed for its
implementation and the reservation will be increased based on its report. He said that we have now got reservation after fighting for decades, he noted.
Minister B. Sriramulu said that the Government would not increase bus fares: There is no proposal to increase transport bus fares in the State. Priority is being given to deploying more transport buses to rural areas. Arrangements have been made to dedicate the service of electric buses. He said that more and more electric buses will be dedicated to the service in the coming days.
He said that Congress is not providing justice for backward classes. Kadugolla community was insulted during Bharat Jodo Yatra. Kadugolla community leaders who were going to meet Rahul Gandhi to have an interaction was stopped and they were not allowed to meet Rahul. Sriramulu stated that this is an evidence of the anti-backward class attitude of the Congress.
