Mysuru Yuva Dasara

Mysuru is alive with the vibrant celebrations of Yuva Dasara 2024, a five-day mega event that showcases an array of musical talents and cultural performances. This year’s festival, which began on October 6, has attracted a massive crowd eager to witness the enthralling performances that honour the city’s rich heritage and traditions.

The festival kicked off with a breathtaking performance by acclaimed playback singer Shreya Ghoshal, who captivated an audience of over one lakh people. Her soulful renditions included beloved tracks like “Sunn Raha Hai..,” from Aashiqui 2, and local Kannada hits such as “Ondu Male Billu” from Chakravarthy and “Saaluthillave” from Kotigobba 2. Shreya’s ability to connect with the crowd through both Hindi and Kannada songs left the audience enchanted and eager for more.

On the second day, the spotlight shifted to Bollywood’s Dhvani Bhanushali, who opened the night with chart-topping hits like “Dilbar” and “Koka.” Following her electrifying performance, Karnataka’s esteemed music composer Ravi Basrur, known for his work on the KGF series, took centre stage. The audience danced exuberantly to popular tracks such as “Toofan” from KGF 2 and “Ugramm Veeram” from Ugramm, making it a night to remember.

The remaining days of Yuva Dasara promise more spectacular performances:

  • October 8 – Badshah: Renowned rapper Badshah will be the main attraction tonight, performing from 8 pm. The evening will kick off with talented playback singers Jaskaran Singh and Sangeetha Ravindranath setting the stage.
  • October 9 – AR Rahman: The following night will feature the Academy Award-winning musician AR Rahman, who is expected to take the stage from 7 pm after cultural performances by local artists. His presence is sure to draw a significant crowd eager to experience his iconic music.
  • October 10 – Ilaiyaraaja: The grand finale on October 10 will showcase the legendary composer Ilaiyaraaja, who is scheduled to perform from 7 pm. Before his performance, audiences will enjoy cultural acts from Kannada cinema artists and independent musicians.

This year’s Yuva Dasara is being held at a spacious 100-acre venue near Uttanahalli, on the outskirts of Mysuru. This strategic decision by the District Administration and the Yuva Dasara Sub-Committee aims to accommodate a larger audience and alleviate traffic congestion, ensuring a more enjoyable experience for attendees.

With a star-studded line-up and an emphasis on cultural celebration, the Mysuru Yuva Dasara 2024 is set to be an unforgettable event that brings together music, heritage, and community spirit in the heart of Karnataka.
