Man shot dead by forest officials for Quail hunting

Gundlupet: In the Maddur range of Gundlupet taluk, a forest officer fatally shot a hunter, Manoj (23), who resided in Bheemanabeedu village. A group of ten hunters arrived to hunt late at night, where they killed and took away more than four quails.

Forest department officials promptly arrived at the scene and made efforts to apprehend the poachers. However, the poachers attempted to assault the forest officials during this confrontation. In self-defense, the forest officer fired upon the poachers, resulting in the immediate death of one individual, Mahesh. The rest of the poachers have since fled the scene. Mahesh, who lost his life in the incident, had been married for a year, and his grieving family members are present at the location.
