Chamarajanagar: Minister of Women and Child Development, Lakshmi Hebbalkar, came to the rescue of two young men who were lying injured on the road after a motorcycle collided head-on with an auto-rickshaw.
The minister was en route to Mandya after attending a preparatory meeting in Chamarajanagar for the Grihalakshmi Scheme launch. The accident occurred when two youths on a motorcycle were struck by an auto-rickshaw near Doddarayapet Cross on Santhemaralli Main Road, just outside the city.
Upon reaching the scene, the minister halted her car and promptly arranged for the injured individuals to be transported to the hospital in an ambulance, despite her busy schedule.
In the meantime, local residents called for compensation to be provided due to the frequent accidents at Doddarayapet Cross. The minister’s compassionate actions in assisting the injured individuals were praised by the local community.
