Mysuru: Catalyst for Women Entrepreneurship (CWE) launched the first cohort for Elevate WomEN, a business incubation program for women entrepreneurs from the Mysuru region. The program is supported by the Department of Electronics, Information Technology, Biotechnology and Science & Technology, Govt of Karnataka.
This is an exclusive business incubation program for women entrepreneurs based in Mysuru, Mandya, Coorg, Hassan and Chamarajanagar (Regions under the Mysuru cluster). CWE will nurture and grow women entrepreneurs to scale up their enterprises successfully and build a powerful network for promoting business, peer learning and visibility. In this 4-month intensive hybrid program, CWE will equip 20 selected women entrepreneurs with business skills, mentoring, pitch deck preparation, connection to investors and publicity. This will also be an opportunity for women entrepreneurs to connect and build a business network.
The launch event was held at Hotel Southern Star, Mysuru. Meena Nagaraj, MD, Department of Electronics, Information Technology, Biotechnology and Science & Technology, Govt of Karnataka, Sanjay Anandaram Investor, Founder NiCEorg, Vijay Ladha Finance expert and business mentor, Sucharita Eashwar, Founder & CEO of Catalyst for Women Entrepreneurship, Shrilakshmi Desiraju, CEO and Co-founder of Triphase Pharmaceuticals were the dignitaries. Delivering the keynote address, Meena Nagaraj MD, Department of Electronics, Information Technology, Biotechnology and Science & Technology, Govt of Karnataka, said “We are looking at all angles and helping handhold start-ups across other cities also and come up with what Bengaluru is doing. We want to ensure that multiple cities along with Bengaluru grow organically”.
Post lunch an interactive session by Sanjay Anandaram, Vijayladha and Shrilakshmi Desiraju was conducted for the entrepreneurs.
CWE is a comprehensive platform that offers women entrepreneurs access to business skills, finance, markets, mentorship, information & access to government schemes and other opportunities. In 2018, CWE set up the first incubator and co-working space for women-led tech start-ups in Bengaluru in collaboration with K-Tech Innovation Hub, GoK and NASSCOM.
CWE has an extensive network of 4000+ entrepreneurs spanning 14 states. CWE has incubated 20 successful role model entrepreneurs, who have been funded, won patents, and reached global markets. The program is part of CWE SaShakti initiative to create successful entrepreneurs beyond the metros.
