Female elephant shot dead at Sulugodu Village

Mysuru: A female elephant was shot dead by miscreants at Sulugodu Village under Anechowkur Forest Range in
Nagarahole Wildlife Sanctuary on Friday January 28.

The cadaver of female elephant aged about 20 was found in father Revanna’s field, just 500 meters away from reserve forest.

ACF Sathish informed mediapersons that a herd of 4 to 5 elephants entered human habitat in search of food.

The elephant’s body has gun shot injuries. Forest Department doctor Ramesh conducted autopsy. Hunsuru Rural Police has registered a case and are searching for miscreants.
