Mysuru: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr. K.V. Rajendra has issued an order to enforce the lockdown of Aditya Adhikari Hospital in Gokulam Layout and initiate legal action against Dr. Chandrashekar. The directive includes the immediate relocation of patients from the hospital.

Ravigowda’s older sibling, Shivanna, sustained injuries in the accident and was subsequently admitted to Aditya Adhikari Hospital for extended medical care. Despite undergoing treatment, which included a four-month duration and one operation, Shivanna tragically passed away post-surgery. In response to this, Ravigowda, a resident of Mysuru, filed a complaint with the health department’s vigilance cell, urging an investigation into the alleged medical negligence by the doctors and the subsequent closure of the hospital.

The State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission initiated an inquiry against Dr. Chandrasekhar in this matter. The investigation revealed lapses on the part of Dr. Chandrasekhar. As a result, a compensation amounting to Rs 15,60,000 will be awarded to the family members of the deceased. The order for compensation was issued on August 8, 2023.
