Mysuru: The Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC) has launched Heli Tourism Project in Mysuru which is being strongly rejected by the locals.

Pro-Kannada activist and former MLA Vatal Nagaraj and a few others staged a protest in front of the Lalitha Mahal Palace Hotel in the city on Thursday January 27.

Speaking to mediapersons, Vatal warned, “If State Government goes ahead with introducing Heli tourism in Mysuru, thousands of trees would be chopped which will have a cascading effect on the environment. This project will
also affect the Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens, Karanji Lake and Chamundi Hills, resulting in an unpredictable danger.”

Vatal added, “we urge the State Government to stop this project from proceeding any further. We do not need this type of project in our City, ans if it still continues we will stage a mass protest.”
