MAA Utsava 2022 in Mysuru on April 9

Mysuru: Mysore Medical College Alumni Association (MAA) will celebrate ‘MAA Utsava 2022’ at MMCRI Platinum Jubilee Hall at J K Grounds in the city on April 9 at 10.00 am.

Mysore Medical College Alumni Association President Dr. B. N. Anandaravi told media persons on Thursday March 31 that “Owing to Covid MAA Utsava was not celebrated in 2021. Now, we are going to celebrate MAA Utsava 2022. Scientific sessions and felicitation to senior doctors are lined up.”

Dr. Anandaravi said “Mysore Medical College is first in the State and seventh in India. The alumni association was formed in the year 1948 and the association has around 10,000 members. During Covid crises MAA Trust has distributed 3,00,000 masks and respiratory equipment towards Covid care,” he said.

Retired Director of Medical Education, Government of Karnataka Dr. R. Seethalakshmi will inaugurate the scientific plenum on the day. First Vice-Chancellor of RGUHS, Bengaluru Dr. Kantha S. Jadhav will inaugurate the newly constructed Dining Hall.

VC, RGUHS, Bengaluru Dr. Ramesh M. K. will inaugurate the sessions, MLC Dr. D Thimmaiah will be the chief guest, and MAA Trust Chairman Dr. S. Chandrashekar Shetty will be the guest of honour. Alumni Association will honour 15 doctors and alumni members of 1961 batch during the event.

Association Secretary Dr. Malegowda said “During the sessions Presidential Oration will be made by Dr. Anandaravi B. N. on “Acute Abdomen’. Dr. M. Nagaraju talk on “Selfless service is love divine”. Dr. Rajkumar P. Wadhwa, Apollo Hospitals will talk on “Newer diagnostic modalities in Endoscopy”.

Dr. Vasudevan Pai H., will speak on “Management of Cystic tumors of pancreas”, Dr. Rajiv Lochan J. will talk on “Who needs a liver transplant and what happens to those who undergo it?”, Dr. Kiran Kumar of DRM Hospital will deliver a presentation on “Newer Trends on Arthroscopy”.
