Mysur: Parents donate organs of brain dead son

Mysuru: The parents of a brain dead youth donated organs to the needy patients set an example for serving society.

It is said that S. A. Sachin (21), a native of Singapura Village of Pandavapur Taluk in  Mandya District was seriously injured in a road accident on Monday November 28. He was immediately admitted to JSS Hospital Mysuru. The doctor treating the youth had announced on Tuesday November 29 that the patient’s brain had become inactive. In spite of such grief, the family members of the deceased decided to donate the organs and requested further action.

A team of doctors  removed the patient’s heart, two corneas (eyes), two kidneys and a liver, and sent heart to Vaidehi Hospital in Bengaluru  and one kidney and liver to BGS Global Hospital for transplantation to the needy patients. The organs were transported through Green Corridor with the cooperation of Police Department.

Two corneas have been sent to Bengaluru’s Lions Hospital. JSS Hospital and Board of Management thanked  Sachin’s family members for taking the decision to donate organs.
