Mysuru: 1 killed, 4 injured in Tempo Traveller-KSRTC bus collision

Mysuru: One person was killed and four others were critically injured in a collision between a Tempo Traveller and a KSRTC bus on the National Highway near Mallikanathapura here on Monday June 27.

The road accident claimed the life of Nagaiah (46) a resident of Bannikuppe village in Hunsur who worked as a librarian.

According to sources, three others injured in the accident were Mangalamma of Thattekere village, Kendaganamma of Dharmapura, Jayamma of Mantikoppalu, and Shekhar from Arasu Kallahalli. There were rushed to K R Hospital here.

The accident happened at around 9.00 pm when the Tempo traveller moving to Hunsur from Mysuru collided with the oncoming KSRTC bus.

The damaged vehicles blocked lanes, which had an impact on the flow of traffic on the highway. Bilikere Police arrived at the spot and arranged to remove the debris and eased traffic movement.

According to sources, the deceased’s mortal remains have been sent to the government hospital in Bilikere.

A case has been registered at Bilikere Police Station.
