Mysuru: Gandhada Gudi, the last film of Power star Dr. Puneeth Rajkumar hit a record 1,500 odd screens in the State on Friday October 28, to an overwhelming response from the fans, who went gaga over seeing their favourite actor for one last time on the screen. A first-of-its-kind documentary film Gandhada Gudi is produced by Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar under the late actor’s home banner PRK Films.
In Mysuru too, the film is being screened in Sangam theatre, Inox, PVR, Vision, DRC, and Satyam Cinema among multiplexes.
The fans of Appu as Puneeth Rajkumar are popularly addressed as his fans are thronging the screens in good numbers to watch the movie and be a part of Appu’s dream journey in the woods of Karnataka. Noted wildlife filmmaker Amoghavarsha has directed the documentary, the name of which is derived from thespian Dr. Rajkumar’s blockbuster movie by the same name released in 1973.
The release of the documentary film coincides with the eve of the first death anniversary of Puneeth Rajkumar who passed away on October 29, 2021, due to cardiac arrest.
Gandhada Gudi Producer and spouse of Puneet Raj Kumar, Ashwini on Friday visited Chamundi Hill and offered a special pooja at Chamundeshwari Temple on the occasion of the release of the new film.
Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar, who got the darshan of Chamundeshwari, visited Nimishamba Temple in Srirangapattana in the morning and offered pooja.
Actor Puneeth Rajkumar was also a great devotee of Chamundeshwari. Whenever he arrived in Mysore for any movie shooting and whenever a new movie was released, he used to climb Chamundi Hill barefoot to see the Goddess.
