Mysuru: A case has been registered in Vidyaranyapura Police Station against five persons including a Tahasildar Revenue Inspector and Village Accountant on the charges of illegally encroaching land in Kasaba Hobli of the City. Srikanthappa, Director of Tirumalai Roller Flour Mill Private Limited, a resident of Vijayanagara City, filed a complaint against Tahasildar, Revenue Inspector and Village Accountant and private persons, Jayalakshmibhai, and Jayashree for alleged transfer of land illegally.
According to complaint by Sri Kantappa, 2.06 Kharabu land in Kasaba Hobli Survey No. 155/2 of Mysuru was converted and given for non-agricultural purposes in the name of Venkatappa. In 1982, Narasimhanna, who was the Director of Flour Mill bought and registered from Venkatappa, Venkataram, and Krishna. However, Narasimhanna
had not given the original purchase deed to the company and died in the year 1999.
After paying 19.47 lakh for the said land in 1999, he got single plot industrial design map. Though the Revenue Department has no right on industrial land, Narasimhanna’s children, Jayalakshmibai and Jayashree succeded to transfer the land in their by name by making deceased khata illegally with help of corrupt revenue officials. But Tahasildar B. Girish told that the khata was made by Village Accountant and Revenue Inspector. I have no role in that case. If there is a dispute about the khata, an inquiry will be conducted at the Tahsildar level and a decision will be taken. However, the dispute was not submitted while transferring the khata.
He said Police Inspector has no power to file FIR against Taluk Magistrate. He has to obtain the permission from the higher authorities before filing case against Tahasildar, he added.
