Mysuru: A cow tied in a cow shed was seriously injured after a tiger attacked it at K. G. Hebbanakuppe Village in Veeranahosahalli.

Billenahosahalli Uday had tied the cow at a cow shed in his chikku plantation at K. G. Hebbanakuppe Village on the fringes of Nagarahole National Park. In the early hours of Monday December 19, a tiger attacked the cow. Alarmed by the tiger attack, the cow broke the rope tied to it and came out. However, the tiger attacked the cow again.

However, the cow fought to save its life and finally, the tiger gave up. In the early hours of the morning, when the family members had gone to fetch milk, the tiger ran towards the Forest.

The Forest Department officials visited the spot and inspected the shed and the place where the tiger and the cow had a battle. The cow had been treated.

Tigers and leopards are frequently attacking people and livestock in the region, scaring the people living in the forest region. Neralakuppe Gram Panchayat President Uday has urged the Forest Department to put up a cage and capture the tiger as the earliest as people are afraid to move around in the region.
