Mysuru: A crocodile, which has been creating panic for the past one month, has finally been caught.

The Forest Department, Mysuru Zoo and Mysuru City Corporation (MCC), with the help of locals, conducted an operation at a plantation in the City on Thursday November 17.

The crocodile, which had been spotted several times in the last one month in a canal near 9th Cross on Ramanuja Road, had created panic among the locals. A few days ago, a calf was killed and local residents were under pressure to capture the crocodile. Earlier attempts by the Forest Officials had failed too.

The personnel who intensified the operation through JCB on Thursday succeeded in capturing the crocodile. Now that the crocodile has been captured, the fears of the locals have been allayed. Forest Department officials said that the captured crocodile will be released into the Kabini Reservoir
