Mysuru: The District Administration on Sunday September 18 hosted breakfast for Mahouts, Kavadis and their families at Mysuru palace as tradition, who came to take part in the Dasara celebration.
District In-Charge Minister S. T. Somasekhar served breakfast to the mahouts. He appreciated the work of Kavadigars and Mahouts who are taking care of the elephants and inquired about their well-being. On this occasion, they distributed play materials to the children of Mahouts. Meanwhile, the Minister visited the temporary health check-up centre that has been opened on the palace premises.
Speaking to mediapersons, the Minister said that this time the government and the District Administration are ready to celebrate Mysuru Dasara in a grand manner. All preparations are going on for Dasara. He informed that the list of cultural programmes will be finalised on the evening of September 19.
